Tucanwood / Peroba Tucan        Pronounced:  as in English

Appearance:
Tucanwood when freshly sanded and finished has flames of color running throughout the length of the boards, ranging from light yellow to dark pink and even some dark reddish brown streaks.  In the cured wood (after exposure to light and air) the pink vanishes and becomes dark yellow to amber, leaving an overall streaky amber floor.  The grain is fine and even.

Specifications:
Unfinished, 3 1/4" x 3/4" solid hardwood flooring.
No stains used.
This flooring is not available in a pre-finished product at present.

Lengths:
The lengths on this flooring can be considered shorter than normal which results from a lot of natural defects being cut out of long boards to provide wood with no worm holes or mineral staining.  An average length of 29" to 34" is common with lengths ranging from 9" to 84".

Color change over time:
When freshly sanded and finished this floor will appear very pink with light yellow streaks running like flames through the length of the boards.  With time the pink will mellow to an amber/orange brown and the yellow will darken to orange to give an overall orange/brown floor.
